The Children's Train: Escape on the Kindertransport by Jana Zinser recently Named First Place winner in the Historical Fiction category of the CIPA EVVY Awards
CASTLE ROCK, Colo. - Aug. 24, 2016 -- BQB Publishing, an imprint of Boutique of Quality Books Publishing Company, is pleased to announce that The Children's Train: Escape on the Kindertransport by Jana Zinser of Castle Rock, Colorado has been awarded First Place in the Historical Fiction category of the CIPA 2016 EVVY Awards. The winners were announced on August 20th during the CIPA Award Ceremony.
The Children's Train: Escape on the Kindertransport is a story of World War II when England arranges to take Jewish children out of Germany by train, to save their lives. This fictionalized version of real events is the story of Peter, Becca, Stephen, and Hans whose lives change forever when their parents, terrified for their lives, place them on a train that chugs over the border into Holland, where the children are ferried across the English Channel to new lives far from friends and family.
As Jana tells it, the remarkable story of the Kindertransport children in Nazi Germany touched her heart and would not let go. "Since the moment I heard their incredible, historic tale, they did not leave my mind. They lived in my conscience and would not leave until I told their story."
Terri Leidich, president and publisher at BQB Publishing commented, "The Children's Train: Escape on the Kindertransport is a fictionalized story of a horrific time in history. Imagine putting your children, as young as infants, on a train in order to save their lives, not knowing if you'll ever see them again. We're immensely proud of Jana and what she has accomplished in the telling of this story."
